And they’re off…

Our first Mbokop, Cameroon assessment trip is officially underway…well after a few stops in Istanbul and Yaounde. Our team of eight is currently on their second flight from Istanbul to Yaounde and from there will fly into Douala.

Travel team at Dulles Airport ready for departure. Let’s call this the “Before” picture.

The EWB-DC chapter has sent a highly skilled group of engineeering professionals and public health students and has an ambitious agenda on this first assessment trip. The travel team will also be meeting and partnering with a variety of people and organizations that have been instrumental in the planning process including the contact and mission that helped Mbokop apply for the EWB program, a US Peace Corp Volunteer, HEDECS, and most importantly the community of Mbokop.  Throughout the two week assessment trip, chapter members that are back in US will provide more detailed updates on the activities that were planned for this trip. We will also provide trip updates as we hear from the travelers. Check back often!
