Countless hours of planning, meetings, and preparation over the last several months has all been in anticipation of today: Departure Day. The team leaves Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) for Douala International Airport (DLA) with connections in Montreal and Brussels. They’ll arrive in Douala on Monday night at 9:40pm WAT (EST + 6 hours, GMT/UTC + 1 hour) where the high is a balmy 88°F (31°C). They’ll be met by Julius, our trusty in-country guide/translator/price-negotiator/fixer/all-around-great-guy, and begin the next leg of their journey to Mbokop.
