Get Involved with EWB-DC by Joining the Executive Committee

The EWB-DC Executive Committee is currently looking for folks interested in the following roles:

President (June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025)

  • Set chapter goals for the upcoming year.
  • Manage and facilitate monthly officer/leads meetings and bi-monthly chapter meetings.
  • Maintain communication with EWB-USA and the State Representative by reporting on Chapter activities, changes, and progress.
  • Oversee external chapter communications, including, but not limited to emails, social media accounts, website, and sponsor relations.
  • Ensure EWB-USA is represented professionally in conduct, communication, and at events.

 

Vice President of Programs (June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025)

  • Assume the responsibilities of the President in the event of their absence.
  • Ensure all chapter programs are operating in accordance with EWB-USA policies and procedures.
  • Attend program meetings as needed and assist program leads with EWB-USA policies and procedures, requests to EWB-USA, and report reviews.
  • Manage membership operations, including, but not limited to, meeting with and integrating new members into a chapter program or committee, networking with student chapters and potential new members, assisting project teams in filling expertise gaps.

 

Sierra Leone Project Co-Lead

Dumange Bridge Project is looking for volunteers interested in the position of co-lead. The project is partnering with the community of Dumangbe, Sierra Leone, to construct a safe year-round crossing over the Korgorgi stream. This coming year the project is expected to complete preliminary and final design, fundraise for construction, and travel to Sierra Leone to construct the bridge. As project co-lead, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a group of fun, dedicated volunteers to bring this project to completion. Volunteers with experience in  any of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: civil design, construction, project management, fundraising, international work, and previous EWB volunteer experience. Typical co-lead duties include:

  • Lead project meetings
  • Manage project progress, fundraising, and resources
  • Develop fundraising plans & support project fundraising initiatives
  • Provide input to the technical design process
  • Communicate updates via reports and annual meetings with EWB-USA
  • Meet cool people & make the world a better place

 

Peru Project Team Co-Lead 

Clean Water in Peru is looking for volunteers interested in the position of co-lead. The project is partnering with the community of Shiringamazu, Peru for the construction and distribution of a water system. As project co-lead, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a group of fun, dedicated volunteers to bring this project to completion! Candidates with any experience in civil engineering, construction, project management, fundraising, international work, and previous EWB volunteer experience are encouraged to apply. Note: candidates do not need to be a technical expert! Typical co-lead duties include:

  • Lead project meetings
  • Manage project progress, fundraising, and resources
  • Develop fundraising plans & support project fundraising initiatives
  • Provide input to the technical design process
  • Communicate updates via reports and annual meetings with EWB-USA
  • Meet cool people & make the world a better place
